If you are looking for something bold that would definitely take your mind off the boring approaches everybody is doing this year and has been doing for quite some time, you are in for a surprise. Mathieu Mirano is the new fresh face in the fashion industry and has managed to impress with quite a unique collection at his debut in 2011. Critics say that he managed to use high levels of construction and craft only a pro would have and there’s so much more he can show us in his future collections.

His collection has a somewhat ethnic approach to its outfits. The sleek lines, the harsh style is very in your face, very assertive, it manages to offer us the painted picture of the modern business woman. Dark colors are dominating with a mix of black, red and yellow, making it even easier to stand out and giving it a timeless quality few brands manage to achieve. A contemporary approach to fabrics manages to impose itself from the very beginning, his collection being somewhat futuristic but without falling into cliché approaches. His elegant pieces are definitely works of art and manage to stand out no matter how you are going to wear them.

He definitely gets his inspiration from the artsy background he has: he says he is inspired by various composers like Camille Saint-Saëns and Philip Glass and his travels in many of the fashion capitals like Milan London, Cairo or Paris, where he surely learned a lot about beautiful design. He studied the School of Fine Arts and went to study afterwards at Parson’s School of Design in New York City. He doesn’t like all the attention glamour has been getting lately and managed to bring us a collection that might stand out even among glamorous clothing. With his level of uniqueness there’s no wonder this collection managed to do this. For fall he has prepared beautiful jackets, gowns and great pants that you can combine to create perfect looks that would fit anybody because they are simply amazing. When you are in need of cutting edge design, Mathieu Mirano is the fashion designer you need.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows

Victoria’s Secret fashion shows have always been famous for the impressive way they manage to keep their public entertained. It is probably the most well-known fashion show, not just because there are beautiful women walking around in sexy lingerie but also because they have a certain attitude and the organizers manage to create astonishing effects that amaze the public. Actually, the first show, which was also advertised highly beforehand, had more than a million viewers. This was happening in 1999, when the world wasn’t accustomed with the extravagance of the fashion industry.

An important aspect when it comes to the show is the fact that not only lingerie is presented, but different themes and also different costumes, that probably contributes to the whole entertainment factor. There are shows where the models take different personas such as angels, demons, police women or even pin up and fetish clothes. Also, it is a well-known fact that Victoria’s Secret fashion shows are only presented by celebrity models. Some of the most important models that walked the Victoria’s Secret catwalk are: Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karolína Kurková, Lindsay Ellingson, Selita Ebanks, Miranda Kerr, and many more.

The themes approached by these fashion shows are various: a fashion show from 2005 wanted to present something hot and spicy in terms of fashion and they dressed Giselle Bundchen in a beautiful looking devil. Another show, in the same year, had a more Russian theme and they used different elements such as fur, velvet, a lot of red and the model’s look was based on the iconic Femme Fatale look. They also used a lot of Victorian and BDSM elements such as corsets, leather and laces. Other events have focused on more innocent themes that featured baby doll dresses and lingerie, or more conventional themes, but that doesn’t mean that they weren’t sexy and beautiful.

Overall, a Victoria’s Secret fashion show is a great experience, not only you get to see beautiful models but also an amazing array of special effects and different theatrical performances. The models don’t just walk on the catwalk and present the clothes, they have the Victoria’s Secret attitude.

A Gucci Pre-Fall Show

We are getting closer and closer to the fall/winter fashion season and designers aren’t late to show their ideas and get us a hint as to what to expect towards the finish of this year. As there are many designers to talk about, each with numerous designs and fashion ideas, it can be hard to know what all of them are preparing. Gucci is a big name in the fashion world and it deserves some attention as we are preparing for the fall season.

As a small Gucci reference to get things started, Emma Stone recently wore a green tux with black pants for the People’s Choice Awards; the clothes were of course designed by Gucci and Emma actually won an award that night so everybody got to see her superb outfit.

For the fall collection, things seem to be a bit different as we got to see at the recent fashion shows. The style is more subdued and some can even say that it is minimal with some items. Everything seems to be bit looser and pansy prints are favored by the designer which is a bit of a big change from what we are used to. Also, furs are still pretty big and they will surely find a lot of fans during the fall and winter.

As far as men’s fashion goes from Gucci, it seems that dark colored floral patterns and loose coats are what we should expect. Down shoulders as to give the impression that he person is wearing a jacket bigger for its size is a known look and we also got to see a glimpse of it in previous seasons.

Loose tailoring is certainly becoming more popular or at least this is the conclusion we can to after seeing the latest Gucci fashion shows. Another interesting aspect that was seen on the male models is the riding boots that really worked well with the overall style. Also something to consider is silken tie prints. Surprisingly are the dark colored fashion items for both men and women although we got to see very colorful designs for this summer.

Although the 77 years old fashion designer is still an important name and present figure in the fashion industry, things weren’t always clear that he would have a future in this field. As a young boy, he was attracted to medicine and wanted to become a doctor so he enrolled in a university. His chance to see if he has what it takes came quickly when after only two years of studies, he had to provide military service which included working in a hospital. It was enough to convince him that this is not what he wanted.

His career in fashion started from the bottom level where he worked as a window dresser for a store in Milan. The real experience came from when he was working as a seller and he managed to see a lot of styles for menswear as well as what items appealed to certain groups of the population. By the middle 60s, Armani changed companies and was now designing clothes which were quickly becoming popular. This meant quite a lot of work for him as many other companies wanted a piece of his talent. Many years of personal and professional growth followed as Armani opened a design office and was working freelance for several big names in the fashion industry. His success was quickly recognized and gave him the opportunity to open his own label, Giorgio Armani Spa, with a new collection ready that same year.

The rest is history and the brand grew to a huge size thanks to the famous fashion designer Giorgio Armani that was always involved in designing, making, supervising and selling the items.

Ralph Lauren is a famous fashion designer, born in The Bronx, New York which became very popular due to his own styles and marketing ideas. He once declared that he doesn’t just make clothes, he makes dreams, a phrase that quickly got around and explained the success of some brands and fashion designers. With such a confident point of view towards his clothing lines, nothing could stand in his way although becoming a famous fashion designer didn’t always seem to work.

The first signs of fashion designer potential could have been seen when he was in high school; he used to sell ties to his colleagues and stated that the wanted to become a millionaire when he grew up. He was on the right path and continued with studying business while in Baruch College but he dropped out after a couple of years. The first time the Polo emblem was seen was on the cuff of the women’s suit in 1970 when after winning an award for his menswear, he introduced a classic collection of suits for women.

The key design that made Ralph Lauren famous was the short sleeve mesh shirt, introduced in 1972; the variety of colors available and the unique style made it an instant hit and it is now a classic in fashion.

One of his big hobbies is collecting cars, old and new, classics and the most recent supercars. His collection so far has more than 70 cars with names that would impress any car enthusiast. Some of his cars were presented at various events and exhibitions, including a display at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts.
